Cultivating Positive Relationships: A Whole School Approach to Restorative Practices

March 18 @ 5:00pm - 6:00pm AEDT

Shifting from rules to relationships and from conflict to connection.
In today’s educational landscape, fostering positive relationships within school communities is paramount. Restorative Practice, when integrated into a school’s culture, offers a transformative approach that prioritizes relationships, inclusivity, and support. This masterclass, based on Moreton Bay College’s experience, will examine the impact of a whole-school approach to Restorative Practice.

Restorative Practice is more than a conflict resolution tool; it is a philosophy that reshapes how we think, interact, teach, and learn. By focusing on the harm caused by conflict and wrongdoing, rather than merely the rules broken, this approach nurtures empathy, accountability, and healing. It encourages students, teachers, and staff to view conflicts through the lens of their effects on relationships, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
