Thank you to those members who attended the 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Positive Education Schools Association Ltd (ACN 168 259 096) (PESA) on 20 October.

In accordance with the PESA constitution, the following Member-elected Directors retired by rotation at the end of this AGM and their positions on the Board fell vacant:

  • Mrs Anne Johnstone (PESA Chair)
  • Ms Leonie Abbott (PESA Treasurer)
  • Ms Joanne Alford

In addition, Mr Charlie Scudamore advised the Chair of his retirement from the PESA Board from 20 October.

I am pleased to advise that Anne Johnstone, our Chair, and Leonie Abbott, our Treasurer, were reappointed to our Board, and David Bott and Emma Grave have been appointed our Board.

At this time, we formally farewell Joanne Alford and Charlie Scudamore from our Board.  Joanne was appointed a PESA director in 2017, and Charlie in 2015. Both have been outstanding contributors to our Board, faithfully serving our association with wisdom and generosity. On behalf of the PESA Board, our gratitude for the important roles Joanne and Charlie have played in the growth and development of PESA.

Minutes of the AGM can now be viewed here. The minutes include the Chair’s Report, Finance Report and Membership Report, which will be particularly informative for those members who were unable to attend the meeting.

May I draw your attention to the Membership Report, specifically in relation to membership fees for 2021.

PESA’s annual membership fees have not increased for almost two years, with the last increase in January 2019.

Members are advised that our Board has resolved that there will be a small increase  in our annual membership fees from 1 January 2021 as follows:

  • A$599 Institutional membership – $49 increase
  • A$99 Individual membership  – $19 increase
  • A$29 Student membership – $4 increase

I am very pleased to also advise that the Board has also resolved that all members will from 1 January be given free access to the online PESA Positive Education Guide (which currently costs A$29.95 for an annual subscription). We believe this is a significant benefit to our members.

The PESA Board is committed to ensuring our fees are reasonable to ensure affordability and diversity within our membership base.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
