SUMMARY:The Space Between Knowing and Doing
DESCRIPTION:Why Relational Practice Requires a Shift from Control to Curiosity \nEducators understand the importance of relationships\, belonging and student voice\, yet under pressure\, even the most committed professionals can retreat to patterns of control and compliance. Why does this happen\, and what can we do about it? \nJoin us to celebrate the launch of The Relational School as author Sue Chandler draws on her book to explore the gap between our relational intentions and our relational responses. She introduces the Relational Practice Bridge\, a framework for translating relational values into sustainable cultural transformation. \nFocusing on the first pillar of the framework: Relational Thinking\, Sue explores three powerful stories that shape how educators interpret behaviour and respond in moments of challenge: \n\nThe stories we inherited\nThe stories we were taught\nThe stories our systems tell us\n\nThrough reflection\, discussion and practical provocation\, this workshop challenges the false choice between control and rescue\, inviting educators instead to hold high expectations while building responsibility\, problem-solving and capacity in young people. \nREGISTRATION COST\nPESA Members: free registration (membership will be verified before the webinar link is sent).\nNon-members: $30 donation to support PESA’s ongoing professional learning program. Includes 1 month PESA membership and access to the recording. \n

SUMMARY:Connection IS the Content: A Pathway to Wellbeing
DESCRIPTION:Fun is the method. Wellbeing is the outcome. Connection is everything. \nThe science is in: educational programs which intentionally develop trusting & healthy relationships outperform all other curricula on so many levels: greater participation\, improved academic performance\, stronger communities & extremely happy students. \nHere’s the good news: building that connection doesn’t have to be serious work. This interactive\, hands-on workshop is your permission slip to play. We will explore the latest wellbeing research and then get straight into a collection of fun\, field-tested group games and activities designed to build real connection\, the kind that makes students feel valued\, supported and excited to show up. Activities that work just as well online as they do in person\, and that slot easily into your existing curriculum without adding to your load. \nExpect to leave this workshop energised\, inspired\, and armed with a toolkit you can use in your very next lesson. \nREGISTRATION COST\nPESA Members: free registration (membership will be verified before the webinar link is sent).\nNon-members: $30 donation to support PESA’s ongoing professional learning program. Includes 1 month PESA membership and access to the recording. \n
