SUMMARY:Cultivating Positive Relationships: A Whole School Approach to Restorative Practices
DESCRIPTION:Shifting from rules to relationships and from conflict to connection.\nIn today’s educational landscape\, fostering positive relationships within school communities is paramount. Restorative Practice\, when integrated into a school’s culture\, offers a transformative approach that prioritizes relationships\, inclusivity\, and support. This masterclass\, based on Moreton Bay College’s experience\, will examine the impact of a whole-school approach to Restorative Practice. \nRestorative Practice is more than a conflict resolution tool; it is a philosophy that reshapes how we think\, interact\, teach\, and learn. By focusing on the harm caused by conflict and wrongdoing\, rather than merely the rules broken\, this approach nurtures empathy\, accountability\, and healing. It encourages students\, teachers\, and staff to view conflicts through the lens of their effects on relationships\, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. \nREGISTRATION COST\nPESA Member: Complimentary registration (login required).\nNon-member: A modest $30 donation\, supporting a non-profit organisation and enabling the delivery of high-quality professional learning. Registration includes access to the event recording for 30 days following the session. \n \n

What helps you and your staff recharge during busy weeks?)\n•	A tip or strategy to support positive stress management and end-of-year focus.\n•	A link to relevant research or article that grounds our discussion in wellbeing education and/ or wellbeing science. \nEach week will highlight a different aspect of “finishing strong\,” such as balance\, gratitude\, reflection\, connection\, or celebration. \nJoin the QLD Chapter Facebook group today and end the year with energy and purpose!

SUMMARY:Breaking up with Burnout: Igniting a Sustainable Relationship With Work
DESCRIPTION:This term 2 event is part of PESA’s “Starting Well\, Finishing Strong” professional learning program.  Term 2’s focus is: Building the foundations of wellbeing and developing healthy habits. \nTeachers play a pivotal role in shaping the foundations of wellbeing within a school. Their own sense of wellbeing directly impacts their capacity to build positive relationships\, manage stress effectively\, respond to the diverse needs of students\, and model healthy\, adaptive behaviours –  all of which are essential for cultivating a positive\, thriving and high-functioning school community. \nTeachers often experience a love-hate relationship with their work: driven by purpose\, but stretched by constant demands. How can we rewrite the narrative so that teachers have agency to shape a healthy\, sustainable relationship with their work—and importantly\, centre the joy of teaching?
